This is our latest Vehicle Build, we have taken a V8 Auto Discovery 2 and re-engineer it to 300 Tdi with a manual R380 gearbox and LT230 transfer Box. Over the next couple of months we will be preparing the Disco with some custom and off the peg modifcations. We will be taking this Land Rover to all the Major shows this year for you to cast your eye over.
We have already started modifying the vehicle by fitting the Tdi and transmission. We are currently in the process of building some side lockers (pictures to follow) we feel this will improve rear storage and access to the load space. We have also fitted some BFGoodrich All Terrains to standard steel rims.
Restoration: PP110. Winner “best Coil vehicle” at the ALRC National 2012
This Pre Production 110 but built in 1982 and the 11th 110 down the Line at Load Lane. 30 years later after a hard life at Land Rover as a Works towing vehicle it was used buy a company for towing marques round the country. In 2005 the chassis was beyond any quick repair and was parked up and used for shunting duties. After a period of time it came up for sale and we bought it to preserve it
Due to its rarity and importance to Land Rover history we didn’t want to just throw all the broken bits away and fit new. As you don’t have the same vehicle as you started with. So we took the body off and repaired the chassis to high standard and painted it to perfect finish. It was then put back under the body and refitted with as many original parts as possible. The doors were repaired in stead of being replaced as this kept the original paint work.
Now fully restored CWK 6Y, has won best Coil vehicle at the ALRC National 2012 which we were very proud of.
Ok it took rather longer than 5 minutes to complete the full chassis swap on this 110 Landy but due to the miracle power of stop motion photography and YouTube you can experience it all in about 5 minutes. You didn’t even have to get oil on your hands
If you need to do a full chassis swap replacing your rotting old one for a nice shiny galvanised one then we can help. We do them for all makes and models of Land Rover and you can find out more here.
Restoration Series 1: From farm yard hack, to a “Best restored” show winner
It took just under 14 months to restore AEJ from a farm yard hack, to a “Best restored” show winner. All the mechanical work was carried out in house, the body work was done by our approved body shop to a high standard. Every part of the series one was taken apart inspected and reassembled anything that was found to be faulty or worn was replaced. We scoured parts from all around the country to complete the restoration. With it being left hand drive this made it even more difficult.
Its first major journey was to Wimboune in Dorset 280 miles from York. It complete the round trip faultlessly and have been on many long distance trips since.
